Το πιο επιτυχημένο χριστουγεννιάτικο τραγούδι που γράφτηκε πριν από 32 χρόνια, αρχικά δεν ήταν τοποθετημένο χρονικά και στιχουργικά για τα Χριστούγεννα, αλλά για το Πάσχα.
Όπως αναφέρει σε παλιότερο δημοσίευμα του το MTV της Γερμανίας, αυτό που δεν είναι τόσο γνωστό στον κόσμο είναι πως η δισκογραφική εταιρεία που συνεργαζόταν με τους Wham, επιθυμούσε ένα ραδιοφωνικό χιτ για τα Χριστούγεννα και έτσι ο Τζορτζ Μάικλ αναγκάστηκε να αλλάξει το Easter σε Christmas, προκειμένου το κομμάτι να κυκλοφορήσει την περίοδο εκείνη.
Το κομμάτι πούλησε 1,4 εκατομμύρια singles σε όλο τον κόσμο και τα έσοδα που είχε θα αρκούσαν στο Μάικλ για να περάσει ολόκληρη τη ζωή του. Ο ίδιος, δεσμεύτηκε τότε να χαρίσει σε φιλανθρωπική οργάνωση όλες τις εισπράξεις από την πρώτη χρονιά κυκλοφορίας του ιστορικού τραγουδιού.
